JAKARTA – The creative economy sector holds massive growth potential, yet entrepreneurs often face significant challenges in accessing capital because their primary assets lie in intellectual property (IP) and intangible value rather than conventional physical assets. To help bridge this gap, The Indonesian Venture Capital Association for Startups (Amvesindo) actively participated in The 5th World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) 2026.
On Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Gold Studio CGV Grand Indonesia, Amvesindo’s Deputy Secretary-General, Alvin Evander, served as a panelist in a strategic session titled “Unlocking Investment for the Creative Economy”. The 45-minute discussion was moderated by Restog Krisna Kusuma (Expert Staff for Funding and Financing) and featured other prominent panelists: Firnando Buenayre Sirait (CEO HARA AgriTech) and Melisa Irene (Partner East Ventures).
This session focused on the vital role of investment and access to finance in enabling creative businesses to grow and scale. Alvin Evander shared perspectives on how the venture capital ecosystem and alternative financing mechanisms can act as strong catalysts for creative industry growth. The dialogue also explored collaborative steps between investors, entrepreneurs, and the broader ecosystem to bridge the financing gap.
The ultimate goal of the dialogue was to encourage stakeholders to look beyond traditional financing approaches and recognize the creative economy as a field of investment opportunity. With the right investment ecosystem, creative entrepreneurs can transform innovation into economic opportunity, and intellectual property into lasting, sustainable value
